Sunday Aug 9 to Banbury via ITV

Liana's birthday! Lots of cards and presents saved from Liana's party last month have been opened at last! Thank you, all of you! After a leisurely breakfast, we set off from below Claydon locks towards Cropredy on this gloriously sunny day. Loads of boats were parked ready for the Fairport Convention Festival, but we weren't hurrying. John Sargeant, filming the next series of Barging Around Britain, said hallo to us all at Elkington lock, as we had 60th birthday stickers on the boat and Liana was wearing her 60 today badges! Who knows, we may be on the telly! Eventually reached Banbury and shopped in the big open market, then Liana chose a fabulous Pizza restaurant with stone oven and Italian chef - yum!

We awoke to the camera crew being briefed by their director, outside our boat, moored outside The Boat pub, where they had filmed inside last night. We chatted with the crew and the gentleman who had brought his Jag to be in the programme, which mentioned Morse and John Thaw.
